Relentless

By Portland 08/02/2009

This is the latest project we did with Craig over at Rise Records. We had a great time doing this and the Dylan from the band had some great ideas that helped bring this to life. The lovely Alex was gracious enough to get all dirty and creepy for the photo shoot and she nailed it. Be sure to pick up the new CD NOW!

Bridge Nine Records

By Portland 08/01/2009

We just finished up a bunch of projects for MA’s own Bridge Nine Records. It’s awesome to work with a label that values multiple versions of a release and that STILL does 7inches! This time around we worked on the latest releases from Death Before Dishonor and Dead Swans. Both bands have a ton of great stuff to check out over at the Bridge Nine Store so do yourself a favor and head over. Big thanks go out to Karl and Chris at B9 for the opportunity and for being straight awesome dudes.

Beauty Killer

By Portland 07/28/2009

We’ve been working with the infamous Jeffree Star on a few projects and it’s been a blast. He has a great vision for his image and the assets he’s provided have been amazing. His new album “Beauty Killer” hits shelves Sept. 22nd and it’s definitely going to turn some heads. We’ll be launching Jeffree’s new myspace page very soon so keep an eye out for that. For now, be sure to go check out some of his songs on his Official Myspace page.

Remedies

By Portland 07/24/2009

Awhile back we worked on a layout for Germany based hardcore band The Blackout Argument. They had a great concept involving different remedies to cure various forms of disease or corruption. We created our own herbal connoctions similar to something you’d see in a botanists field guide to represent this. It was a lot of fun putting these together and working with the band on another project. They just filmed a video where you can see some of the images from the album. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t3mfB3OnQ8&feature=player_embedded

The Machines We Are

By Portland 07/04/2009

Our favorite Canadians, Dead and Divine, approached us about doing the art for their new record ‘The Machines We Are’ (available August 4th). We were more then thrilled to work with these dudes again, especially after what we created with them for their last layout. We took a bit of a different approach with this layout since the music is a lot more diverse then the last album. Photo based layout with metallic or UV inks – we can’t wait to see this printed! We’ve had the privilege to hear the album and it’s amazing. Every song is catchy and are guaranteed to get stuck in your head. Check out the myspace page we created for them and preview the new track The Sugar Sickness.

An Electric Summer

By Portland 07/03/2009

Kyle over at Electric Zombie Clothing just launched his summer line today. About a month ago, he made the trip out to stay with Phill in Sacramento to shoot the photos of the new line. The designs are sick, complete with TMNT and monsters. Check out his Look Book and be sure to grab your new summer gear from http://electriczombie.merchnow.com

Gasoline Cologne

By Portland 07/02/2009

We worked with an amazing hip hop artist Prophit recently on a few projects. Prophit’s style is smooth, fluent, and real. Definitely reminds me of older smart hip hop from the day like Digable Planets or De La Soul. Wiser then his years, Brooklyn’s Prophit is definitely on his way to making huge waves in the music industry. Be sure to check out his tracks on his MYSPACE PAGE.

Launch in 2010

By Portland 06/30/2009

We recently attended the Launch Music Conference in beautiful Lancaster, PA and had the most amazing time. They posted this video run down (look close, you’ll see my mug a couple times.) Launch is really a great place for musicians, artists, and people in and out of the music industry to connect and get noticed. In the 2 days we were there, we saw some great bands, made some amazing friends and really enjoyed being a part of a conference that looks to only get bigger and better in the coming years. They are already planning for a massive event in 2010 and we hoped to be a part of it whether we’re on a panel or just attending. If you in the available when it goes down next year, I highly recommend making the trip.

Being daddy and more...

Posted on 06/16/2009

It’s been really awesome to get the well wishes from everyone regarding the arrival of my new baby girl. Things have been awesome and my wife and I couldn’t be happier. Baby Zoe is constantly surprising us and making life more and more interesting each day. I’m learning how to be in 2 places at the same time all the while working in 2 places at the same time. I can’t wait to really start teaching her how to run a computer and take over some of these job requests that we’ve been getting lately. She’s gonna be a ripper, so look out.

On another note, Phill just got done hanging with Kyle from Electric Zombie over the weekend as they were shooting photos for his new catalog and summer line. I can only imagine the fun the two of those guys had – easily the wackiest dudes I know. haha. Be sure to go get your summer swag from EZ now!
